Earth Strap
« on: May 07, 2004, 01:10:27 »
G'Day again everyone

I've just finished taking off my bumper bars and trim in preparation for some rust repairs. While under the car I noticed that an earth strap (flat woven copper) has come away. One end is still connected to the power steering pump but I can't see where it attaches to the body. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Mark

Hello,
I assume you still have the earth connection from the torpedowall to the engine/gearbox. I have never seen any other earth connections, but this is maybe a 230 thing?

Hello Mark,
I know one of these ground connections hooks to the top 10mm radiator mounting bolt near the battery.

Thanks Joe and Knirk

This makes sense. The radiator mounting bracket came away at the bottom when my engine mount collapsed. I had it repaired but didn't notice it should have had an earth strap attached. The other earth strap is still connected.
