leather question
« on: March 28, 2011, 17:59:14 »
Guys,
I am considering having my interior redone in a non perforated style leather in the pleats instead of the perforated patterns.  Is this a no no? I kind of prefer the looks of solid leather between the pleats like in the 190SL and 300SL gullwing.  Has anyone done this and are there any pics?  The leather I've chosen is slightly darker than the cognag brown but has the nice soft texture and aged feel like a comfortable cigar chair similar to the Ralph Lauren 300Gullwing's.  I'm not looking for a stock by the book look, but will follow all the tailoring of the original design just without the perforations.  Please comment.

No, no is a personal opinion.  If you like it, you should do it.

It sounds like a good plan. Still true to the spirit of Mercedes and SL, even if not smack-on the details of the original. Of course you should follow your heart! Just be sure to post pictures and let us all share the joy.
