Vacuum hose missing?

I have a vacuum connection on the intake manifold with nothing going to it and it's not currently blanket off. It's on the opposite side to where the distributor advance goes, so on the right front of the manifold, forward of the Csv.

Any ideas please? I will of course blank it for the time being.

The port is for the vacuum feed for the vacuum cell on the throttle body.

well since blanking this point off my car no longer cuts out intermittently at the lights... so quiet happy!

Im convinced this port must be redundant on a manual car?

Could not find anything about the vacuum cell on a manual trans. car.

BTW, does your car have these switches on the gearbox cover?

Remember I have switched to the 5 speed getrag but the original box doesnt have those switches either... cant think why you would need them!?

On the late US cars with emissions control relays etc., the switches are used to cut off the fuel delivery from the injection pump when the throttle is closed and the car is either in 3rd or 4th gear (clutch engaged).

Whats the point!? clutch engaged, top gears and no throttle? hmmm

Nice bit of knowledge though.
