230/250SL rubber floor mat pins - how long, how many?
« on: April 11, 2011, 20:10:06 »
This a question for 230SL and early 250SL owners.
The rubber floor mats in a 230SL are held in place by pins or buttons.
However, the parts lists (230SL & 250/280SL) show only one pin p/n: 000 988 14 80 and supposedly one needs 6 for LHD and 7 for RHD cars.
Not only does my LHD car have 7 pins (3 in driver mat, 4 in passenger mat) but there also long and short ones - see photo.
So which ones are correct, short or long, and does your passenger mat have 3 or 4 pins?
Thanks.

I have three on the drivers side and four on the passengers side. I really can't tell the height, but you will be able to check them out up close and personal on Saturday.
