Mystery Part
« on: March 27, 2011, 01:55:54 »
From the blue MB catalogue 10062 type 230sl edition A.

Looking for a photo of where parts 162 (bracket) and 163 (pipe clamp) for vacuum line and auxiliary air duct are located on an early 230sl engine.  Thanks

Hi John, I am not quite sure but this may be the part. However mine seems to be one piece not two.

James, I think that is a different part.  It was one I had eliminated earlier.

Hi James, I don't have a photo but that clamp connects to #6 ram tube on the intake manifold with a 8mm bolt and supports the aux. air tube that runs
from the inj. pump via the rear of the engine to the intake manifold below the cold start valve.Hope this is helpful.

John,
the photo shows the location of that bracket in my late 230SL. It attaches to the filler tube for the automatic transmission.
Could be the same in yours.

Alfred, I think the previous post may be correct since I don't have an automatic transmission.

I still cannot find the parts.  I have to assume the parts are missing.  Picture anyone?
