A recent photo, getting closer to being on the road but missed the two week deadline.  Mike

Great Restauration. Wondering why you chose to zinc chromate some of the aluminum parts that weren't originally plated? The zinc will wear after a while and it seems it would be much easier and cheaper down the line  to clean and polish those pieces rather than going through the labor of plating.

Not to say that it doesn't look awesome though

Bernd,

For most parts he cleaned and polished them but zinc plated a few.  To be honest, I left it up to him to decide, he is very detailed and so far has shown very good judgement in restoring the car.  We had a bit of a set back recently when a spring broke when working on the soft top frame and it scratched the paint on the side.  The car was just repainted this week and I hope to finish it some time this week or next.

Below is a link to photos of my 67 230SL which I am having restored here in Poland.  This was not a smart purchase but we are working to bring the car back to a decent condition.  Sorry for not posting photos but I could not reduce the size, even after reading the FAQ

Congratulations! Judging by the work done, it's probably worth the wait :-)

You're spending too much time driving it and haven't got around to posting those pictures!!!

Looking very nice.
