transmission locks up in reverse
« on: July 12, 2011, 12:38:12 »
1965 230Sl with automatic transmission.   Once the car has reached operating temperature, the transmission locks up in reverse after just a couple of feet.   Let it cool down over night and I can at least back it out of the garage.   Any one have any ideas or know of a transmission shop in the Dallas area that works on these.

Just a thought, are you sure it isnt the rear brake's,  or hand brake, I would have thought if it was transmission, it would do it all the time,  ???

I don't know if I can reproduce this now, but I did have a reverse lock up (on a hill) after long run about 9 months ago
