The Haynes manual suggests you have to remove the front springs to lower the subframe to change the subframe rubber mounts.
Why?

The front springs?  ???
No!  :o The shock absorbers perhaps but not the coil springs. Those are safely "integrated" in the whole front axle assembly (subframe) between the A-like wishbones.
What you "may" want to remove or unscrew are the supporting leaf springs which are attached to the lower front of the subframe. That certainly makes sense and appears to me to be necessary as well.

Yes that's what i thought Achim, there is no need to remove the coil springs.
Just to make absolutely sure the 108 subframe mount kit is identical apart from no
top plates. (Sorry to cover old ground but they are a lot cheaper from sls.)
I suppose I should do engine and gearbox mounts while I am in there?
Is there a cheaper supplier than sls in europe?
