Metal Coolant Lines/Pipes
« on: November 26, 2011, 22:41:44 »
Hello all,

Does anyone know where i can get the 2 metal coolant pipes that run under the inlet manifold and at the bulkhead on a RHD 230sl? I've been told they are discontinued at a Mercedes dealer.

Or does anyone know where i can get them made in the u.k? I still have the old ones for patterns, they have rusted quite badly and have several pin holes in them.

Thanks

Unfortunately these metal pipes have been NLA for some time.

Your best bet would be to have it made up (using your old ones as templates) by someone that specializes in hydraulics/pipe fabrication.
Whilst I don't know of any places in the UK that you can go to, I'm sure some of our UK friends will chime in and provide you with ideas of where to go.

On a side note, don't use standard copper pipe as used in the plumbing industry. It is too soft and will eventually fracture as a result of the constant vibration.
