Need a (early) Fuel pump and a fuel level sender

This weekend I found that my fuel pump is seized. And when I handled the fuel level sender just disintegrated into a pile of wires and broken contacts. I'm guessing that the pump is gummed up and it wouldn't make sense to hit it with 24V momentarily - especially if it's rebuildable.

Does anyone know of someone who may rebuild the pump? Or know where I can get a replacement for less than $695.00 and $56 for the bracket? Similarly is it possible to get a fuel level sender for less than $241.00? This was an expensive weekend!

Do check the Fuel section in the Technical Manual. It has detailed info on rebuilding Fuel pumps...

Do as Peter says--see the Tech Manual. Do not hit it with 24 volts. If you do, it will not be rebuildable!

By ' early sender ' do you mean the one that has the float on the end of the arm?

No, the sender is cylindrical with a float which moves vertically located inside an aluminum (I think) tube. By early, I meant that the fuel pump is the tall one.

This weekend I took the bottom off the fuel pump and cleaned everything inside. Then I polished with wet or dry sandpaper. I carefully took the top off the motor and noticed no fuel leakage. Then the pump worked! we'll see how long it lasts.

I was getting ready to finally start the car and I found the injector pump oil sump is completely empty.
