Steering Shaft Nut Size
« on: May 16, 2012, 20:45:29 »
I've dinged up the steering shaft on my 230SL while re-installing the column. I need to dress up the shaft and replace the nut. Anyone know what size nut the shaft takes? Looks like it could be either a 16MM or 15MM but the nut has also become damaged in the process and I'm not sure at this point. Got a feeling this is another odd ball sized nut that MB uses.

George,
if it is #88 as shown in the drawing that you have in mind  then it is p/n 000936 014008 = M 14 x 1.5
