I was confused about how to choose "good" quality replacement parts, so I did what was recommended on one of the posts. I googled or yahood Karlyn. But I also did the same for Meyle and a couple of others. I conclude: 1) People don`t complain about parts that don`t cause them problems, 2) Almost every manufacturer has complaints about their parts, 3) Almost everyone has their preferred brand and 4) opinions are like unmentionable body parts, in that everybody has one. I spent 34 years in the U.S. auto industry and have seen almost every kind of parts design and manufacturing quality problem that could possibly occur. It was bad enough before, but with the deteriorating morality in the world, counterfeiting has arrived "en masse" to the auto repair parts industry. So some of the complaints (how many I don`t know) may not be the fault of the legitimate repair manufacturers, and the "price" and "quality look" of the parts is no indicator of which is real and which is counterfeit.
I`ve included a link to an interesting four-page paper on the subject that should be read by all. Specifically, please note, on the second page, which kinds of parts are particularly popular to counterfeiters. Caveat Emptor!!!!
I wish there was a way to know the *truth* about parts.
