What's the function of that switch?

Hello all.
Whats the function of the switch as shown in the attachement?
Now i have put the linkage back together but the switch is not operated at any point.
Is this correct?
I didn't change the lenght of the rods, just put everything back together as it was (i believe).

Could it be a fuel cut off switch, in case something happen with the linkage/control shaft?

Looks like aftermarket stuff to me.

Where do the wires go?
If I were you I'd leave it out of the car (as I did with the tons of remaining relais for extra horns and other unnecessary and uggly stuff).
Car will certainly run fine without that box.

Wel it's not aftermarket.
After a few days deep searching this forum i found This topic.
Take a look there.
At my car this switch is not working no matter what position the regulating shaft is.
I think it is because my car is running on LPG (or GPL) and therefore disabled.

That switch tells some component that the throttle linkage is at idle or not. The spring loaded screw adjusts for that purpose. It is a factory device. My understanding is that depending on emissions and equipment, that switch can do a number of things.

On my '68 W111 w/ automatic, it tells the fuel shut off system that the linkage is at idle. Your Euro car may be different.

My '68 W108 is from California so i think it's pretty the same.
Buit as i said, this car drives a cheaper fuel, called LPG.
When the car switch over to LPG there is a sort of vacuum-switch (which is mounted at the front of the FIP) wich cut off the fuel at the same way.
Thats why i think the switch is disabled.
