Stange wire along coil wire
« on: June 26, 2012, 21:25:21 »
Hey all,

I purchased a new coil wire from the dealer today.  The coil wire a a bundle tube on it with a second small thin wire with two eyelets attached to it.  Is this a ground wire or something?  If so, where does it go?

Never had a ground wire (or secondary wire) before.  Any insight would be great.

Thanks

Michael

Hi, Michael,

I suspect you have a 70/71 car with transistorised ignition?

This wire bundle is for the earlier cast iron distributors. The smaller wire goes from coil primary to insulated terminal on the distributor for the points.
