Gear shifts 280 SL automatic
« on: September 13, 2012, 15:42:59 »
Hi all

I just had my engine re-tuned and the issue of spluttering has now been resolved. I had the oil, filter, plugs etc all changed. Its running sweet as before, with one exception. It shifts from 2nd to 3rd at 2500rpm but only shift into 4th at 3000rpm. anyone had this before? Do i need to adjust the solenoid or is it something to do with the timing?

The car idles at 1000rpm exactly now and before it used to be about 850rpm. Is this normal?

Thanks

Ideally idle should be 750-800 rpm. Where did you get it tuned?
Was it someone who is familiar with Pagoda's?

Hi Larry

Thanks for your message, yes it was a specialist. Im going to have to take it back anyway, but just wanted to confirm. Ill drive it on the motorway tomorrow too and make a note of rpms at 60mph etc.

Thanks
