My car is painted (2007) with 717 -papyrus white- in acrylic urethane (single stage) paint. I am about to buy a touch up paint (from Amazon) and "fill" chips the only way I know, that is, by building up new paint, a thin layer at a time, until level with the new paint, color sand to blend it in with the surrounding paint. No drama here, I found it pretty straightforward in the past...but I was using the same paint the car was originally painted with.
This touch up paint is 2 stage, has anyone ever had good luck using 2 stage touch up paint on a single stage painted car? It seems the supplier I checked with (Sherwin-Williams automotive) has to get a product from the States in order to make me a touch up batch of Papyrus White in single-stage, which makes it not worth his while to make me a small batch.
