removing air con unit under dash

I have here in Germany a LHD 280 SL originally from USA and i need to get
to the right hand side panel in order to renew the antenna,
but the under dash air con unit is in the way.
How can i remove it or just move to one side?

Just curious how that worked out.  I have the same problem with my 230SL.  I took a look today and don't see how to get the panel off without removing the AC.
