Correct color for Air Filter Canister
« on: November 20, 2012, 04:13:49 »
I have a 1964 230sl which currently has a silver air filter canister.  It does not appear to have been repainted and I am wondering if anyone knows is they ever came in silver. To date all of the photos I have seen on this site show them in black. Your help would be appreciated.

Is it the correct air filter housing? If it is it must have been painted sometimes in the past as it should always be black.

I am not sure if it is original, but it looks exactly like all others I have seen except silver.

Thank you for the help. I will have the canister powder coated black.
