1969 280 SE Cabriolet
« on: October 02, 2013, 01:44:06 »
Good Evening, well I have the chance to look and buy  this "baby" in 2 weeks. I've only seen 4 pictures. (high grill, not low)
3 exterior and the vin plate. Glen at Haggerty ran the vin # and it's for real. However what I've seen on the internet is very limited.
What should the front seats look like (ie: with or without folding arm rests), does anybody have pictures of what the inside of the softtop looks like from inside the car? All so, it has rubber inserts on the lower front and rear bumpers, all the 69's I've seen have solid chrome. Last question, it also has the large yellow turn signals on the front like the 280 GUY's, but again what I've seen are the little "cone" type turn signals.
Any info or web sites would be greatly appreciated.
Best Regards

There was a lot of changing in '69 but I believe the large turn signals only came with the later low grill. The rubber bumper inserts would probably be on a low grill car as well. The front seats have short armrests with a console and long arm rests with the third seat in the middle.

Tall grills came with all chrome bumpers. Rubber inserts came with the low grill. This car was most seemingly fitted with sedan bumpers which look similar to the low grill ones, but they are different. Original bumpers are expensive.
