Tonneau Cover Won't "Click" into Place
« on: July 06, 2004, 13:52:05 »
I'm having trouble securing one side of my tonneau cover. It won't seem to lock into place on the passenger side. It's not an issue of the soft top frame getting in the way; it's just not clicking. I can see that the mechanism isn't frozen. It just doesn't seem to be catching for some reason.

Anyone ever experience this?

Hi Douglas,

mine did that for a while, too.  The cable linkage is adjustable at each end.  It's been a long time since I did it, but I think end of the cable sleeve goes through a bracket and is held by two nuts.  Loosen the nuts to adjust the position of the sleeve end.  Also be sure the operating lever returns completely.

My lever was not returning fully and I lubricated the right side mechanism a little and it is working properly.

Thank you for the advice, George and Bruce. As it turns out, the linkage was indeed in need of adjustment.
