Gas tank respray

Can the  gas tank on my pagoda  be  sand and primered and painted with out  dropping the tank?

Only the bottom of the tank, Bob. I think you would find it much easier to remove it so you can get all sides. I've found that fuel tanks are often more rusty on the top side.
