heater return line for 1967 250SL
« on: June 30, 2013, 23:21:31 »
Hi,
I am restoring my April 1967 250SL and need to replace the water return line (black metal pipe) coming from the heater core however my mechanic and I are having a hard time finding a supplier for this part. Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks,
Jim Cochran

Thanks 66andBlue! The SLS site shows the correct part but it is apparently no longer available. I have sent them an email and hopefully they can help me. K&K does not have the part but the SLS site is new to me and looks like a good one. Again - thanks for the help.

Thanks,
Jim Cochran

I make them in house but you can get any hydraulic hose supplier to make one as long as you have the pattern for them to work from.

Which part is it? I just bought the hose from the firewall to the head from Mercedes if this is the one.

It's the metal pipe from the heater core to the engine rather than the pipe from the reservoir which is available. I would imagine a custom bent one-off pipe would be very expensive - any idea as to price?

Thanks for the help,
Jim

 ???
Looks like the only metal pipe is a 90 degree nipple on the block (#22 in the SLS diagram; A1302000119) . Check with the Classic Center about availability.
Or do you mean the pipes on the heater core?

I'm new, Why copper water tubing?  Bend to match and paint it black?
