I am about to take my car in for its government 'road worthiness' check. The rules have changes this year, and one of the pass/fail tests is the ability to illuminate the speedo.
As is typical with these cars, my rheostat seems to have given up a long time ago and so I have no dash lights.
I'm in a bit of a time crunch and so cannot get the rheostat bypass done in time at the 12-pin connector as set out in the Technical Manual.
As a temporary fix, would simply wrapping some thin wire around both relevant pins (from the outside of the connector) serve as a temporary fix until I have more time to do the full soldered fix?
It is a minor item but is enough to cause a pass/fail, so I just want to get it through and then I'll do the proper fix.
Thanks
David
