Owner's Manual "Preliminary edition"

Hi All,

I recently purchased a 1971 280SL, production date 6/70.  The owner's manual that came with the car is very thin, only 24 pages.  It states "Owner's Manual Preliminary edition".  Is this manual rare?  When did the "production" manual become available?

Perhaps the 1971 edition is different then the earler ones, but the owner's manual, parts lists, etc. are still available (in reprint form) from MBUSA.  You can also find some originals on ebay or by calling some of the usual vendors of SL parts or auto literature.
