fuel injector pump oil overflow early 250sl red cap

oil was leaking out my red cap. 1 liter per 200 miles.  turned out to be 6 seals under the plungers.  a pain to replace. access from top and side cover.

So gas was leaking past the seals.  Then the oil was drained and refreshed?

no gas was leaking. it is stopped by the oil film seal between the plunger and piston case.  The seals stop high pressure oil from pushing into the lower part of the pump.
