173G Anthracite Gray sample
« on: September 12, 2013, 04:19:33 »
I am getting very close to having to paint my 230sl and I want to paint it using 173G non metallic. I think it is such a gorgeous color.

I wasnt thinking to use any of the super expensive paints but to have a color match. Do you know how I do this? Do I just go to a body shop paint supplier and ask for the paint using this code. The last time I researched that it didnt work as they could not find the code. Is there a place where I can order a paint sample of this color or anyone who can sell me a chip or something?

Also, if you know where to buy the paint, that helps too. I am in San Diego.

Thank you!

Mario,
Call the local Mercedes dealers and ask them which one of their affiliated  paint shops uses Glasurit paints and then try to buy it.
Or contact Glasurit through their web site and ask for a list of paint shops that use their paints in SD.
I sent you a PM also.
On the other hand any good shop that uses other paints can match 173G (sometimes they need to punch in "DB173" or "7173" into the computers to get a match). I know most Sherwin-Williams automotive paint supply stores (Google them) can do it.
