cable by the alternator
« on: December 02, 2013, 01:37:57 »
there is a broken wire next to the alternator.
coming from a box on the psg side, that have no idea what it is.

what is the box in the picture?  and where the broken wire end should be attached to?
thanks a million...

Looks a bit like someone added a fuse box. Can you remove the cover?
Usually added for the radio supply.

Only a guess but it looks like an aftermarket junction box perhaps
used to pick up 12Volts off the back of the alternator then maybe to
a radio.

Here is a photo of mine, and it is the junction box for the radio. My car was ordered without a radio but came with the "kit" to install one which I did myself. The wire to the radio was hidden in the loom so I ran my own (the brown wire) to the radio and the jury rigged static suppressor. I also rewired the fog lights and power antenna and they are also hooked up to this box. I did this 45 years ago and I couldn't begin to tell you how I figured it out back then:-)
