Please help me fix the Videos page on the site

Dear all,

Chuck Taylor has alerted me to the fact that videos I've uploaded here cannot be played using Internet Explorer. Despite a number of attempted fixes, the tools I am using just don't let me get that to work.

So, please note: All videos hosted here on sl113.org (so not on YouTube or Vimeo), will not play in Internet Explorer. To be able to view these videos, please use one of the following browsers instead: Google's Chrome, Apple's Safari or Mozilla's Firefox. All these browsers are free, available for Windows, Mac and Linux users. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Hello Peter, Firefox won't play them either.

If it does not, you'll need to upgrade the version of Adobe's Flash player...

But I'm still working on getting it ok for everyone so bear with me, and try occasionally...

And let me know what works and what does not!

I installed the latest Adobe upgrade and it still does not work on Firefox

Hey Peter,

I cant get them working either.  Why dont you as an alternative upload them to youtube which will guarantee everyone will be able to see them.

Dear all,

I'll probably create a paid-for Vimeo account as our usage for the group would not be classed as "personal use". At € 50 / year or so we as a group should be able to afford it, and I can save a couple of hundred megabytes of space on the server (enough for another set of photographs).

However, I have made a lot of changes to the website, which means that it should now work... and on all my equipment it does. Could I ask you to do the following: copy the following table and fill out the details. Play the first video on the page http://www.sl113.org/Video.html, and let me know if it works. Right click on the video and note the flash player version (if any). Then post a reply to this thread with the info. Thanks.
