Classic Remise (Meilenwerk) Düsseldorf Germany
« on: February 25, 2014, 03:43:53 »
Should you find yourself near Düsseldorf Germany some day do not miss to spend some time here it is the largest Meilenwerk in Germany (there are others in Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart etc).

A Mielenwerk or Classic Remise as some are named are what I like to refer to as a living museum. People like ourselves bring there car to this place for storage and or mechanical work / renovation etc. Each of the major car manufactures is represented in some sort of a shop where Master Mechanics will tend to the cars. Or the car(s) may simply be parked there until the owner(s) decide to take it for a weekend stroll and then return it (that is why i call it a living museum, you never know what you find).

I owned BMW's among other cars for the past 10 years. Naturally I am a member of a BMW forum. The link below is from Moderator "Dackelone" that visits Meilenwerke all over Germany. I have been to quite a few plans are to visit the ones in Düsseldorf next. I have photos from the ones I've visited, however, mine are not as good as the ones from "Dackelone" So all the credit goes to him. I just like to share them with you folks here. Enjoy!

I hope the link works for you ... some beautiful cars to be seen including our beloved Benz :) Give me some feedback if the link works for you. Thanks!

R-D, you've lived in Canada too long if you can't remember how to spell Meilenwerk…  ;D

On the journey back from the 50th in Willengen to the UK last year we had spare time so called in for a couple of hours, was very relaxed and full of interesting cars, bikes and all sorts of things - and entry is free!
