230 vs 280 Chrome Top Covers for B Pillar
« on: January 19, 2014, 11:55:16 »
Does anyone have pictures of both kinds of "B" pillar chrome escutcheon covers for the 230SL vs the 280SL so I can tell the difference?  Both mine on my 280SL are cracked, and I am trying to locate replacements, but don't want to get the wrong ones.  Are the differences strictly screw hole location or is there a difference in the underside structural support as well ? Someone has stepped up, but I just wanted to double check.  Also, I am trying to find original parts, but have seen some newly manufactured replacement parts.  Is there a quality difference?  Any experience here? as these parts have to bear the stress of the hardtop clamps and are made of pot-metal.

Thanks,
