All I can say is Wow ... Very impressive indeed ... It reminded me when my dad took his Benz engine apart labeled and numbered all the parts during a engine major overhaul

Engine seems to have a life of its own, with an inbuilt rebuild function. Life would be so nice if all engines were like that!

BTW,I also liked the last sequence where some pieces left overate shown. This is whatI also noticed on numerous occasions: no matter what, there is always some stuff left.
so while R-D mentions his Dad's engine, I am sure that labelling was great and accurate, but probably it did not prevent at least one screw to hang around. Moreover< I bet that the engine worked perfectly well, regardless....

That brings back memories of taking half my Spitfire engine apart myself, have my mechanic install new piston rings and then me reassembling the whole thing again. It was in order to save money for a skiing holiday, but taking that great little revvy engine apart and putting it back together again made me love that car so much more than before. And yes, it ran great even with a few left over nuts in the glove compartment… :-)
