W110 front subframe mounts question
« on: July 11, 2014, 18:38:22 »
My wife's W110 230 front axle mounts are shot (the ones in between the top of the axle and the chassis rails).  I noted these W110 do not have that lateral strut (or guide rod, p/n 111 330 03 30) between the center rear of the front axle and the right chassis rail that is found on the 108/109/111/112/113 chassis. I also noted they have different subframe mounts. Does that mean these mounts are stiffer and take care of preventing lateral movments hence the absence of that guide rod?

I have good W108 type subframe mounts lying around. Does that mean that I'm going to end up with a lot of lateral movement if I fit them on the W110 in absence of that rod?

Thanks in advance for the help!

I have heard that the W110 subframe mounts are NLA and that you can't use the W108/W111/W113/everything else mounts.  You need to confirm that with the Heckeflosse community, try Vintage subforum on PeachParts or Benzworld and you will probably get an answer.
