Fitting new fabric top
« on: July 14, 2014, 20:25:53 »
I have just purchased a TWILLFAST top from Buds Benz.  There are no rubber seals on the side (above the window). When I fitted a new top to my 107 I needed to add these separately. Is it the same on the 113 and if so does anyone know the part number? I know I will need side cables- are there any other parts I should source prior to giving the car to the trimmer to install?

Thanks

Yes they come separately and for your location, SLS will probably be the easiest to get them from.  I have just done the same thing and also fitted new front top to window seal as well, also available from Buds or SLS.  I did both the Hard Top and Soft top seals, one with OEM and one Repro.  It does not appear to make any difference. I have tried both tops on the car and they seal just fine.
My side window seals were already done at some time earlier so they are the other seals you may look at if they are perished.

I am restoring my soft top from a bare frame.
I am missing the two fabric strips that screw into the frame and the front cross bow that rivets to the strips.
Anyone know a source for these?

Contact Gernold Nisius in Maine.
I was there today and was looking at his work with tops.
He has all the parts.
