Fuel injection system
« on: July 21, 2014, 06:40:41 »
im Just in process of putting back on road a 1967 250sl . Having serious difficulty getting the engine set up after a major re-build and after checking out all the electrics it seems pretty certain that it's a problem with the fuel injectors/injection pump. I've checked the injectors and replaced a couple so it seems to be the injection pump. I'm getting fuel to 4,5,&6 but very poor supply on numbers 1 & 3 and nothing on number 2. Anybody with any experience of similar problems or better still any solutions - getting desperate and summer is running out!!

Hello,

Did you chek that the fuel lines fom the pump to injectors are not clogged?
Can happen if you don't plug them before the zinc plating process, if you had that done as part of your major rebuild.
This can of course also  happen if they are just exposed to the elements, or debris enters the fine lines.

Most likely some pistons are stuck in your IP.  When this happens the rack in the IP is also stuck. To confirm this remove the small round cover on the front end of the IP and check to see if the rack moves freely. If not get back with us and we will guide you through the fix.
