Polyurethane suspension bushes

Hello Chaps,
Does anyone know of a company who has manufactured a poly bush kit for the W113?
I've searched high & low.

You can buy poly stock and just have your local engineering company turn it for you but I can't help but wonder why you would want to.

Cox Racing Group at least years ago manufactured these. I bought a whole kit but decided to leave out the rear trailing arm 'donuts' as they made the ride too harsh and transmitted too many vibrations into the cabin. But I retained and have in to this day the sway bar bushings. Looking at their website though, it seems they got out of that husiness.

Agree with Stickandrudderman, part of what makes the w113s great is their comfort - I polybushed my TR6, but thats a much racier car anyway and I was much younger at the time :-)

Urathane doesn't need to be stiffer, but that is what it is usually about.  I doubt if there is much marcket for W113 urathane when the stock rubber holds up pretty well and isn't really too soft.  A little guy would have to charge a lot to get any investment back on our bushings.

I was wondering the same thing.

I have done other cars with poly bushings and have always been impressed with how much better handling they were versus stock rubber. One thing I found out early on, you need to use silicon grease on the bushings when you add them to your suspension. It not only keeps them quiet, it also keeps the ride comfortable. If you want something that really handles well but is not so comfortable of a ride, install the poly stuff dry without any lubricant.

Are there any differences across the classic 1960-1970 era for the main cross member / subframe mounts between the W113 & W108/109?
