Caliper Piston Alignment

I'm repairing the front calipers on my 1965 230SL with the repair kit shown in attached picture.  Unfortunately I mixed up the left/right pistons and not sure I have the pistons aligned correctly.  Does anyone have a diagram showing the proper alignment of the pistons so the piston and the metal shim are on the correct side with the raised portion of the piston rim aligned right?

I've donr that too.  I happened to lay the pads down in alignment and I could tell but with great concern and doubt.

I think I sorted it out.  I was more careful keeping the passenger side straight.  So assuming those were correctly aligned to begin with and based on the wear patterns on the pads, it appear the heat shields should be aligned as in the attached picture if you're looking at them from the front of the calipers.  The open slot starts at the middle of the rear and run around the top to just below center on the front.  The pistons are aligned with the slots.  Brakes work great with the calipers rebuilt, new lines and flush!

BTW...I don't know if there is trick to seating the new dust covers, but it was a pain.  I finally figured out I could do it pretty easy by seating the front edge then using channel locks to span the caliper housing and gently press the back edge into place.
