Repair shops in the Tacaoma WA area
« on: October 11, 2014, 13:46:05 »
I am looking for a repair shop in the Tacoma WA (98406) area to work on my 1968 280SL, 300E and 1988 M3 BMW when I move there in 2015.  If anyone has any recommendations I would certainly appreciate it.

Mercedes has an up-to-date shop on Airport Way in Seattle. Good availability for parts. That is all I ever needed.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Seattle dealer and I know there is a dealer in Tacoma.  I am looking for more of a private mechanic running a small shop specializing in German autos in the Tacoma/Olympia area to work on my cars.

I live in T-Town and have personal experience with and full confidence in these independents:
1.  Dan Knowles Foreign Auto Clinic, 424 St Helens Ave, Tacoma, 98402 (253-272-0062)
2.  Lloyd and Wilson, 631 Baker St, Tacoma, 98402 (253-627-1514)
3.  Rolf's, 3121 20th St, Fife--they also have a shop in Lakewood, south of Tacoma (253-248-1080)
So, depending on where you live or work, whichever is more conveniently located should be able to do a good job for you.
Let me know if you need any more info.  Lots of good car stuff going on in Tacoma.  Regular get-togethers at Griot's Garage, active BMW and MB clubs and a great track nearby (Pacific Raceways) for track days and vintage car racing.

I have had good luck with Dan Knowles in the past. I know there's a Mercedes only shop in Auburn too in the same parking lot as Sherwin Williams off of Auburn Way
