Kingpin installation

Once I've installed the new bronze kingpin bushes will they require reaming?
If so any idea of the size?
I'd like to get all my tools ready for when the bearing carrier / stub axles are back from blasting

Just done my king pins, adjustable reamer was from Tracy tools and arrived in 2 days.
Hardest part was removing the old bushes , put a length wise cut through each one with a hacksaw and drift them out.
The reaming part is easy, getting the right end float is a bugger,  several thickness,s of shim washers are provided as you will know.

Dave, were you able to reach the suitable end float (0,05mm to 0,1mm max) with the washers provided in the repair kit(?) Or, did you manufacture new washers or machine the ones provided in kit?

Even the thinnest washer in my kit was too thick, i skimmed it against a broad file and then a wide emery board untill it gave me the end float i was happy with.
Each time i reassembled and torqued the bottom nut it would go tight, undo, take a bit more off and fit up/retorque again untill the carrier turns free.
I had to take it apart again and remove a bit more off the washer until it was right.
Took about four attempts , about an hour each side untill i was happy.
Keep measuring what you are taking off your washer each time with a digital micrometer and it will give you a good idea of your final end float.
0.05 to 0.10mm is only 2 to 4 thou so only a tiny amount of end float is required.

I'll check the machine shop at work before I purchase the one you suggest.

I also have the option of a large oven & liquid nitrogen for installing the bushes.

This task shouldn't be so bad
