Hit the 100,000 roll over!
« on: November 13, 2014, 05:13:06 »
Shot the odometer about 100 miles before first roll-over but then spaced out while it hit all zeros -- caught it 2 miles past 100K -- so had to quickly snap the shot while moving.  Major milestone.

Your first 100K roll over in the car I assume ?

I wonder how many all our cars actually did to date, only the first owners, and there are some in our group, can be really sure I guess

Cool picture, pity you missed the 0 point  ;)

Hmmmm, at my current annual mileage of around 2000 miles, the car should hit the 100k mark in about 12 years. I would be 82 then so I think the honor might fall to the next owner ;)

49er, no, no, no, no - you need to plan to still be driving it for the magic 100K!

I said to my wife Kate that if I am still around driving my Pagoda by 80 I better swap it for an easier car to drive like an SLS.  Now that it is getting closer and prices are rising like the sun and moon, I am getting worried I may be kept to the comment  :o ;D

Haha Garry,

Wonder what your wife was thinking when you said that ;D

I think you just want the SLS and I am not sure it's an easier one to get in and out. Besides you have to pick , convertible or Gullwing, now you have the best of both worlds with your stunning Pagoda that also increases in value.

Having that said, the AMG GT looks nice as well and maybe more comfortable than the SLS ;)

what would your wife think now, 2 SLS, one GT and a Pagoda  :D, would she still let you in the house?  ;D

John,

She will not even let me anywhere near her old A Class that I have offered to replace on a number of times.  She just loves it and it looks like it will be an old collectable by the time it gets sold.

I think I will just stick with the Pagoda for life.

Garry

A swap for a SLS might be tempting although its a big brute. Last summer a German SLS ventured into the pedestrian part of our village and just got deeper and deeper. He then had to do a very brave reverse back the way he came with dozens of spectators (not me) willing him to scrape the car. Fortunately, he didn't.

My swap aspiration might be more modest. My wife struggles to drive the Pagoda and I have started to say to her that if I can swap it for a new SL when I retire then I would do that. My wife believes me. I am 50. What age do you think I will be when I can sell my Pagoda, use the proceeds to buy a new SL and retire?

Best regards
Andrew

I know we are getting right off Aslam’s 100,000k topic but it is an interesting concept that if you keep the car for long enough you can get to swap it over for a new one.

I think my car is worth half an SLS and maybe twice as much as a basic SLK.  SLS, SLK, SLS, SLK,  Na, think I will wait for the SLS.  Meanwhile, great weather coming  so better go take the Pagoda out for a spin this weekend.

Achim, maybe in 50 years the A will be worth what a Poton is today ??? :P
