Carpet Install

Can someone tell me where to find step by step procedure on carpet install? or just tell me here.........  What goes down first, etc.

Nope,

There is none AFAIK.

Glue in the fixed ones first: on rockers, cross members, front of softtop compartment. These ones are all fixed with glue.
Then the ones on the parcel shelf, also with glue. Those are a bit tricky.
Finally the loose ones on the tunnel and under seats/in driver's & passenger's foot wells. Those are not glued in but loose.

If you do not like glue, (can be messy) and think you may want some manoeuvring when fitting, you could use double sided carpet tape on the fixed pieces.

Paladin, this is gold what you just wrote there.  I see from your picture you have gone that route.  How has everything held all together?  No slippage or other unwanted migrations over time?  And also: how sticky is this carpet tape?  Will one be able to peel off the carpet withour destroying it, should it be required for whatever reason? 
I think I have my carpet install plan now...heh!

Hi Jerome,

It is specialised carpet tape, easily available here, in UK, I think you should have something similar in Canada.I can try and look up a manufacturer for you if you like.

I did the job almost two years ago, and nothing has come loose, it was a nice job to do, much easier than playing around with glue.

The tape is like a very sticky thin linen, & you need sharp scissors of sharp knife to cut evenly.
The carpet can be removed, the tape usually stays put on the hard surface, then just use more tape to refix it.

I bought some carpet tape at my big box home improvemnet store. Extremly tacky and has held down a stubborn area rug very well. Because of the tackiness, I would use a box knife to cut as opposed to scissors. Can't imagine why it wouldn't work.

You guys are geniuses.  I hate glue - I hate glue - I hate glue!  My garage smells like a chemical factory after simply gluing on some foam for the under-dash HVAC items.  My carpet, and everything else I still have left to glue will definitely be installed with carpet tape.
