Fuel Reserve Light
« on: June 30, 2015, 11:04:16 »
Over the past few months I have been progressively letting the tank run lower and lower before re-fueling in the hope that my little orange reserve light might finally decide to shine on me without running out of gas.

Well today it finally emerged from behind its cloud - see below (apologies for the iphone case reflection).

I took the photo immediately the light came on. I was driving on a flat road and you can see that the tip of the fuel needle is touching the bottom left side of the R.

I immediately drove 2 km to the nearest gas station. Importantly the tank took 68 litres (to the 3rd click of the fuel nozzle).

This means that there should have been approximately 12 litres (3 gallons) of fuel in the tank when the orange reserve light came on, enough for another 60 miles !??
