Becker Europa rear rubbber knob
«

Hello,
Any idea what was the rubber knob attached to the rear of a Becker Europa (mono) used for? Perhaps instead of the rear plate that held the radio to the firewall?
Picture included.
Also, where should I connect the power?
Thank you!

Gerardo,
that rubber knob is used for mounting the radio in the dash .. but not in Pagodas; you can take it off and sell it.
The recommended way to power the radio is through a fuse box in the engine bay on the passenger side as described in the technical manual:
http://www.sl113.org/wiki/Electrical/Radio#RadioInstall
You should have a red/green wire in the harness already to power a fuse box as discussed here:
http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=17189
If you do not have that wire then you need to run a new one either from the alternator as described here:
http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=7537.0
or from fuse #1 in the fuse box or pole 30 on the light switch under the dash.

Yeah, what Alfred said. The rubber knob is the attachment/alignment pin for use in W114/W115 cars. I don't think it is used in any other MBs, but it might be used in early W123 or W116 cars. Not used in W111, 113, 108, 109 cars.
