Ash Tray Lid Attachment
« on: October 02, 2004, 05:58:40 »
Hey Group,

The Lid on my Ash Tray 'floats'. I think a spring is missing.

Can someone please provide a picture of the 'hinge' arrangement.

I have an unsatisfactory temporary set up.

These ash trays are available new, but I just want to see what the correct set up looks like.

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

Bob,

I was cleaning my car and got interested in the ash tray due to your post. As I am a non smoker I never took really notice of the content of the tray. It appears that it is in deed never used as the former owner stated. It looks brand new. That makes me happy as I don't like cars used by smokers. Somehow it is always noticable that a car is a smokers car. I also found the little key for the Hirschmann antenna. It was folded in the manual sheet of the antenna that was in the ray. Here are some pics I took of the ash tray of my car. I hope you can get the steel spring as a seperate part somewhere

Hey Gerard,
Thanks for your efforts.
The spring is missing on my car. I must now track one down.
