This afternoon cleaned the heater/air control system, cleaned out the clear light cylinders & the black plastic tops, checked wires to globes for any rust, installed new levers and re-assembled.
To anyone doing this: I cannot stress enough to be very very careful when putting back together the plastic cylinders with the 2 top screws and 1 bottom screw. I slightly overtightened and broke a small piece of the plastic and had to superglue back. Even though in good condition the plastics are almost 50 years old and has some brittleness.
