Door to wing
« on: August 10, 2015, 07:54:08 »
Hi.

I am restoring my 66 w-113 and after some hundred hours with body work we are looking forward to assemble the car again.
My question for this time is:
What shall the opening (distance) between the door and the mud-shield be? See attachment.

My apologies if some think this is a bit pedantic  :).

I would hang the door in the center of the opening for the door?

As per the Daimler-Benz body repair manual, the gap around doors and front/rear lid is specified as 4mm
The S-shaped gap at the A pillar (door to wing) is somewhat hard to get right, but very visible. If need be, weld added metal onto body or door edge
