« on: August 11, 2015, 20:27:58 »
thanks to all , and to Eric who came up trumps - cheers.

Hi all

Ive been desperately looking for a pair for my 67 250sl  and have just  listed under wanted .. see the shaded out not available ones from the sls catalogue !

Does anyone know if this type were fitted to any other Mercedes as in 67 they seem to be different to any other w113

3 holes but flat plates without raised edges .  does anyone have any experience with  these ? why wonder did they change them so quickly ?!

Cheers

Darren

Take a look here: http://www.sls-hh-shop.de/en/230-280SL-W113/72-Door/72-b-Info-Door-Catch/
This shows all the different catches and what kind of alternatives exist.

Darren,
correct, but that is why people have replaced them with the 4-hole latches as shown in the diagram.
You need to drill a new pair of holes that is all.

Darren,
before you buy call SLS and ask whether they provide a template to drill the new holes.
It is not clear whether one pair (upper?) can be reused, or all four need to be drilled new.

110 sedans use the same type of latches. Rear doors are always the best choice if you can find them as they're seldom worn out.
