Hanging out in Anaheim

Hi, we are currently doing the great California OE trip from NZ.  Been running up and down Hollywood Blvd and Rodeo Drive today and will be at various places in California for the next 3 weeks. On the 6th and 7th, my wife, daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandkids are going to visit Disneyland.  For some reason my second childhood seems to have passed me by and I not going with them.  We are staying at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Anaheim resort convention centre 2085 South Harbor Blvd Tel +1-714750-3000  on those dates and if someone wants to show off their pride and joy I would like to see them during that time.  I won't have a car and I haven't got a cell phone.

I had also counted on going over to the MB classic centre on the Monday but since getting here I have found out it is Labor day so won't be able to, pretty gutted about that because I think we are going on down to San Diego on the 8th.

The Mercedes Classic Center in Irvine is directly on your way to San Diego from Anaheim.   A 20 min stop would be well worth it.

Hi, thanks for the replies,  Garry,  I am only one of 5 when it comes to a vote and Disneyland is almost a rite of passage for the grandkids, so sticking to LA etc, but the suggestion off calling in on the way to San Diego is a good one thanks.

I am in LA proper.  don't know where you are staying and if we are convenient but you could drive my 250 if you'd like.  you could also try lanwbowling in Beverly hills, where my husband is the big cheese.  he would give you a lesson

Very generous Suzy ... Can I drive your 250 when I am in California in Febuary for a special birthday party of my former business partner he will turn 60 ~grin~ Naturally you can take my 280 to Niagara Falls should you ever come my way

Hi Suzy, thank you very much for a a very generous but I wasn't hinting to drive someones car.  I decided not to to drive over here although I am a very competent driver. I was thinking more someone might live in Anaheim (hope springs eternal) or close by.  As a keen restorer I am as interested in looking at a pagoda inside and out as driving it.

ps very impressed with your city, yesterday we went to the science and space museum, plus the natural science museum.  Today we went to the Norton Simon museum.  Amazing.
