Brake master cylinder. Rebuild original or by rebuilt unit

Has anyone rebuilt or replaced there original ATE master cylinder. I can get a rebuild kit  or get a reman init from cardone. Any advice on this?  the price diff is not that much . but I already took the cylinder down to basics so its a matter or replacing some seals.

Personally, I'd buy new. I paid something like 150 euros for OEM a few years ago when I changed from drums to discs.

Must have been several times a "few years ago" for that price.  Send the MC to Apple Hydraulics, Calverton, NY, for a prompt and reasonable rebuild.    http://applehydraulicsonline.com/

I recently replaced the Master Brake Cylinder with a new ATE. I paid EUR85- new on eBay, about 1/3 of the price that SLS & Niemoeler are selling the same item for. At $113- from Autohaus, no question to buy new.

I paid, in July, $94.00 for the ATE model for my 280SL.

They also do swap/exchanges on calipers, and sell a whole variety of only OEM parts.

136 euros in 2013. OEM from MB Classic Centre in Germany, although that was with discount and ex tax.

i bought the rebuild kit online from Amazon for $31,  looks to be correct, Will let you know if its any good or junk in a few months,

I re-built them for many years, on my own cars. Not that big a deal. The instructions show a simple assembly tool you can make which makes the job a snap.  On a customer's car I use new master cylinders. The new price is very reasonable when you figure labor involved.
