Hi Cees,

Do you have a date or month, perhaps we can make it a celebration for near by Pagoda owners at the Benz Barn

Like a "Nipple Day" ---> https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=25291.0

Cheers

Cees, you're a gem.  Yes, It's true, it will be 40 years this October 13th that I've been working on MB cars. But there's a short story here...

 Almost from the start, I had other owners asking me for help. 190SL's were rarely seen back in the early 80's and there were very few people who worked on them so I was the natural choice. Eventually,  entered into 111 coupes and then 113's buying a 280SL in 1988. I sold that car and restored it for the owner about 10 years later who still owns this car today. I don't know how many cars I've worked on but I'd have to guess well over 100. It's not a business that involves a lot of cars - it involves a lot of work.

I started out as Caron Enterprises in 1982 and then changed the business name to Benz Barn around 1996. A couple of years went by and and MBC locked on to that name so I was forced to change to another new name. We are now an Ontario numbered a company operating as SL Barn.

I want to have a party this year to celebrate this milestone and I will be posting with more information about it in the coming months.

Congratulations, Dan!  If you come to PUB Virginia, I know there will be a number of us honored to buy you a beer.  That's the last month you won't be able to say, "Over 40 years."

Ha, that's funny. I'm an iced tea drinker.  Very rare that I ever have a beer although I do once in a while. Let's just say that I've taken this route out of health concerns due to my constant chest and back pain from 2006 surgery.

 But I will be there and would be happy to have a drink with you, my friends.

Hi Dan,

Congratulations, drop on by when in little London Town, I'll poor you a cool one like this. Looks like a Heineken, almost tastes like a Heineken, only it's a alcohol free beer from Germany. I guarantee it tastes better then the ice tea :)

Cheers

Dieter

Ops ... my iPhone plays tricks again, I promise I'll serve you one right side up.

Some of those unleaded beers taste rather foul but I think the one you are showing is OK.

As soon as I start feeling better I plan to go to London as I have not been out of the house in a week and I have a lot to do once I quit coughing.
