Check that both ends of the tachometer cable are still firmly attached as it is possible for the collar to loosen thereby allowing the inner flexible shaft to slip from its driven position. Did the tachometer make any strange noises just before it stopped working? Did the indicator needle perform any wild gyrations before quiting?

What a great gift! Welcome to the world of Pagoda. The tachometer cable is attached to the engine, near and below #1 spark plug. You might want to unfasten it first here, You may be able to see if the cable is intact.

Hi, Just had the bushing/bearing at the odometer in the instrument panel freeze up. A little lube and turning freed it up.

The original tach cables have a rubber angle in them right where it connects to the tachometer itself. Mine had deteriorated and fallen apart letting the cable sheath pull away from the tach and take the inner cable along with it.
